Wireless door contacts and combined contact and shock devices also contain replaceable batteries.
These devices can operate for long periods on a battery, but frequent activation, poor radio conditions and environmental conditions can reduce battery life.

Wireless Keypads
Some Texecom wireless keypads are battery powered. Battery requirements depend on the particular keypad.

External Wireless Sounder

What About the Battery Inside the Texecom Alarm Panel?
The main Texecom control panel normally contains a rechargeable sealed standby battery.
This is different from the disposable lithium batteries used by many wireless devices.
Its job is to keep the alarm system operating during a mains power failure. During an alarm service, the standby battery should be inspected and electrically tested rather than replaced purely because of a calendar date.
Signs of a weak standby battery can include power related faults, battery faults or the alarm system shutting down sooner than expected during a power cut.
What Does a Texecom Low Battery Warning Mean?
If a Texecom system reports a low battery or device battery fault, it normally identifies the affected wireless device through the alarm panel or keypad.
Don’t simply clear the warning and ignore it.
The affected device should be identified, the correct replacement battery fitted and the system tested afterwards to make sure the device is communicating and operating correctly.
Can I Change a Texecom Alarm Battery Myself?
